Katie Haun is the Founder and CEO of Haun Ventures, cryptocurrency-focused venture capital firm that supports teams building in Web3. Under her leadership, Haun Ventures supports teams across every layer of the crypto technology stage and at every stage of their development, through a $500 million early-stage fund and a $1 billion acceleration fund. Katie is one of the most prominent crypto investors in the industry. She has played a central role in helping some of the leading brands in web3 build trust and scale by effectively engaging policymakers and regulators. Prior to Haun Ventures, Katie was General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz, where she co-led the firm's three crypto funds. Before that, she spent a decade as a Federal Prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice, focusing on fraud, cyber, and corporate crime alongside agencies including the SEC, FBI, and Treasury. In addition to her corporate responsibilities, Katie teaches a management course at Stanford Business School and previously taught cybercrime at Stanford Law School.

Previously, she was a General Partner at a16z, a Silicon Valley based venture capital firm and co-chaired its three crypto funds.
She joined in June 2018 as its eleventh general partner and first female general partner.
In her role, she invested in and advised tech companies from seed to later stages.
Katie prosecuted RICO murders, organized crime, public corruption, gangs, and money laundering.
She also held senior positions at Justice Department headquarters in both the National Security Division and Attorney General’s office where her portfolio included antitrust, tax, and national security.
She created the government’s first cryptocurrency task force and led investigations into the Mt. Gox hack and the corrupt agents on the Silk Road task force.
She has also testified on the intersection of technology and regulation before both the House and Senate.
