Kevin Johnson is Vice President of Institutional Sales and Trading at Coinbase, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world. He oversees the platform's specialty sales division covering developers and protocols, and builds institutional trading services for prime brokerage clients. Prior to joining Coinbase, he was COO of the crypto prime broker Tagomi, which was acquired by Coinbase in 2020. He was one of the co-founders and key executives of Tagomi, leading the broker in providing smart order routing, liquidity aggregation, and best execution practices to institutional clients. He has also held various technical and management positions at Citadel, Two Sigma and Getco/KCG across an 18 year career in financial services.
EARLY CAREER
He served as Deputy COO of Aptigon Capital, a Citadel Company, where he was responsible for the alternative data science and research systems teams.
He spent 5 years at KCG Holdings, now part of Virtu Financial, where he was most recently Business Manager of Quantitative and Systematic Trading.
Before that, he was Vice President at Two Sigma Investments, where he led the product development process for numerous projects.
At Citadel, he designed and developed many systems for the portfolio finance and treasury desks.
