Mark Gehlbach is the Co-Founder and President of True North Advisors, a leading registered investment adviser and multi-family office. Since launching True North Advisors, his expertise in guiding high net worth families serves as the foundation of the firm’s edge. He is the architect of True North’s client experience and investment management strategies, and also oversees the financial planning and investment decisions within the firm. Gehlbach has over20 years of experience and is well-regarded in the investment industry as one of the first thirteen wealth advisors in the nation to hold the designation of Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA). He is also an active member in the local and national wealth management industry, and is often quoted and sought after as a source by professional publications.
As President, Gehlbach is responsible for the leadership of True North's Managing Directors.
He also provides strategic and cultural direction for the firm’s future and advises many of the firm’s largest families and institutions.
He oversees the Investment and Wealth Planning divisions and is a voting member of True North’s Investment Committee.
EARLY CAREER
Gehlbach began his career at the Salomon Smith Barney Consulting Group, responsible for providing both investment and wealth management services to private investors, and consulting and trading services to institutional investors.
During his tenure at Salomon Smith Barney, he received numerous accolades including the prestigious Blue Chip Council award honoring top performers.
In 1998, he followed key leaders who left Salomon to form Lockwood Financial, the first independent provider of investment consulting services.
At Lockwood, he joined forces with long-time friend Scott Wood, providing investment advice to high wealth clients.
