Pedro Gomes is the Founder and Director of the WalletConnect, a leading open-source protocol that enables connections between non-custodial wallets and decentralized applications. Gomes began working on Ethereum in 2017 and is the author of several Ethereum Improvement Proposals. He has spent many years contributing to the developments across the Web3 landscape. In 2023, Gomes and his team hosted the world’s first wallet-dedicated conference. He also served as the Founder and President of Reown, the onchain UX platform and builder of the WalletConnect Network.

Gomes began working on Ethereum in 2017 and is the author of several Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) and a Founding Member of the Chain Agnostic Improvement Proposals (CAIPs), an initiative that establishes standards for blockchain projects that support multiple chains.
In 2018, he was awarded a grant from the Ethereum Foundation to build a protocol that would enable all types of wallets and decentralized applications to connect with one another.
An ethereum user himself, Gomes was inspired to create infrastructure to fix the user experience with decentralized applications.
He has spent many years contributing to developments across the web3 landscape, including contributions to a number of widely adopted EIPs and CAIPs, like EIP-1193, EIP-1271, EIP-3085, CAIP-2, and CAIP-10.
EARLY CAREER
Gomes was a Full Stack Engineer for Connext, responsible for crypto wallets and exchange integrations.
He was a Full Stack Engineer for Balance.io where he built web interfaces for Ethereum, and was a Frontend Web Developer for Loot Financial Services, where he contributed to the company's dedicated UI kit for open-source use.
Earlier in his career, he was a Freelance Web Developer where he provided web development and design services for static websites.
