Pete Nickerson is a Managing Member of Chinus Asset Management, a leading investment manager providing investors with superior exposure to emerging Asia. In his role, Pete provides strategic asset allocation expertise for the firm's fund of fund offerings. Throughout his career, he has provided real-time data on the economic environment in the countries in which the firm invests. He has been involved in the Asian and American public and private equity markets over the past 4 decades. Prior to the launch of Chinus, Pete had founded and developed trading, investing and manufacturing businesses in Hong Kong, China, Vietnam and India. He was a Co-founder and Director of Growth-Link Overseas Company, a private Hong Kong-based investment firm founded in 1988. In addition to his leadership roles, Pete sits on several public and private corporate boards, as well as other not-for-profit boards.
Pete is also Chinus Asset Management’s Co-founder, Principal, and member of the Investment Committee.
He has founded and developed businesses that currently generate just under $1 billion of sales and directly employs over 85,000 people.
He has been deeply involved in both the Asian and American public and private equity markets and has built an extensive network in Asia.
He has conducted business throughout Asia, including living for extended periods in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore.
He is a past-chair of the PSU Foundation Board of Directors, and received the 2017 Simon Benson Award from Portland State University.
