Philipp Carlsson-Szlezak is the Global Chief Economist of Boston Consulting Group, and Managing Director and Partner at BCG's New York office. He also leads the Center for Macroeconomics at the BCG Henderson Institute. His research covers structural, cyclical, and firm-level themes, and he advises clients on tactical and strategic global macro topics. Prior to joining BCG, Philipp was Chief Economist at Sanford C. Bernstein where he covered the economy and markets for institutional investors across the global asset management industry. Earlier in his career, he spent more than 10 years advising financial institutions and governments at BCG, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development and McKinsey & Company. Together with Paul Swartz, he is the co-author of Shocks, Crises, and False Alarms: How to Assess True Macroeconomic Risk.
