Philipp Carlsson-Szlezak is the Global Chief Economist of Boston Consulting Group and a Managing Director and Partner in BCG’s New York office. He also heads the Center for Macroeconomics at the BCG Henderson Institute, where his research spans structural, cyclical, and firm-level themes, advising clients on both tactical and strategic global macroeconomic issues. Before rejoining BCG, Philipp served as Chief Economist at Sanford C. Bernstein, covering the economy and markets for institutional investors, and earlier in his career spent over a decade advising financial institutions and governments at BCG, the OECD, and McKinsey & Company. He is the co‑author, with Paul Swartz, of Shocks, Crises, and False Alarms: How to Assess True Macroeconomic Risk.
