Pradeep Ravikumar is Professor of Machine Learning at Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science. He leads the Foundations of Statistical Machine Learning Group in CMU, and is the co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Machine Learning Research, the premier journal for the field of machine learning. He is also an Associate Editor-in-Chief for IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence. Ravikumar was a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Department of Statistics, University of California, Berkeley through 2009, working with Martin Wainwright and Bin Yu.
Ravikumar's main area of research is in statistical machine learning.
His recent focus is on next-generation machine learning systems, including artificial intelligence and domain knowledge.
EARLY CAREER
He was an Associate Professor for the Department of Computer Science at The University of Texas, Austin.
He was Program Chair for the Sixteenth International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Statistics (AISTATS) 2013.
