Scott Bessent is the Founder and CEO of Key Square Capital Management, a global macro hedge fund. Bessent is a prominent investor and widely acknowledged to be one of the world’s most highly respected macro hedge fund managers. Throughout his career, Bessent helped orchestrate some of the most legendary bets in market history. Most recently, he was Chief Investment Officer of Soros Fund Management, the $30 billion family office of billionaire George Soros. He was a pivotal figure on the George Soros team who helped the Quantum Fund make $1 billion, shorting sterling ahead of the UK's withdrawal from the ERM. As Soros’s CIO, he was also dubbed as ‘The Man Who Broke the Bank of Japan’ by the Wall Street Journal, making approximately $3.5 billion on the Abenomics trade from 2012-2015. Bessent was one of the longest-running members of one of the most successful hedge fund groups of all time, Soros Asset Management.
He worked at Soros Fund Management from 1991-2000. By the age of 29, Bessent was running Soros' European fund.

CAREER
Bessent began his career at Brown Brothers Harriman, he moved to the Olayan Group, a Saudi family office where he reported directly to Hutham Olayan.
From there, he became the first analyst for acclaimed short seller Jim Chanos at Kynikos Associates.
His mentors include Jim Rogers, Jim Chanos, Stan Druckenmiller and George Soros.
He also served as an Adjunct Professor at Yale University, where he taught economic history.
