William Strong is Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Virtus Real Estate Capital, a real estate private equity sponsor focused on recession-resilient asset classes. In his roles, Will is responsible for oversight of investor relations, fund structuring, debt sourcing, the Virtus finance and accounting team, and the firm's management and operations. In addition, he is also a member of the firm's Executive and Investment Committee. Prior to joining Virtus, he was CFO and COO at FanTrail, and a Principal at Spinn Capital Partners. Previously he was Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Forum Partners, a global real estate private equity fund sponsor. At Forum, Will and management grew the eight-member team to over 50 members worldwide.
Under his leadership, Forum had $2 billion in assets under management invested in real estate companies throughout Europe and Asia.
Will was also an Associate for Security Capital and Lazard Asset Management.
He began his career in 1992 at Goldman Sachs as an equity securities analyst in the Asset Management Division.
He received both his B.A. and his M.B.A. degree in Finance from Columbia University, where he was an intercollegiate athlete in swimming and water polo.
