Vanguard Real Estate Index Fund
The Vanguard Real Estate ETF offers an efficient way for investors to gain indirect exposure to real estate prices, by providing a broad exposure to U.S. equity REITs, alongside a small allocation to specialized REITs and real estate firms. This Fund seeks to track the performance of the MSCI US Investable Market Real Estate 25/50 Index, which measures the output of publicly traded equity REITs and other real estate-related investments. VNQ accurately represents the broad U.S. real estate market, with a majority coverage on equity real estate investment trusts and a few real estate management and development firms.
VNQ invests in stocks issued by real estate investment trusts (REITs), companies that purchase office buildings, hotels, and other real property.
