Barry Bannister serves as Managing Director and Chief Equity Strategist at Stifel, where he leads the firm’s equity macro and sector strategy research.

Bannister’s tenure at Stifel dates back to 1992 through various predecessor firms, with extensive coverage in Machinery and Engineering & Construction.
He joined the Stifel Nicolaus Research Team following Stifel’s acquisition of Legg Mason’s Capital Markets Group in December 2005.
EARLY CAREER
Before joining Legg Mason in 1998, Bannister was a senior analyst covering the North American machinery industry and later co-head of U.S. equity research in the New York office of S.G. Warburg & Company, a UK investment bank.
