Brian Armstrong is the Co-Founder and CEO of Coinbase, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the United States. Under his leadership, Coinbase has played a significant role in popularizing crypto and making them more accessible to the public at large. Armstrong is often quoted as one of the most influential people in crypto, recognized for overseeing the first-ever crypto exchange to go public in the U.S. He has also played a significant role in accelerating mass adoption of cryptocurrencies, utilizing blockchain technology for financial services and advocating for a pro-cryptocurrency regulatory environment.   • He is responsible for Coinbase’s consumer and institutional arms, which offer an entire suite of products that make accessing cryptocurrencies easy and secure.

  • Under his leadership, Coinbase has become the leading crypto company that provides exchange, brokerage, and custody services to 100+ million verified users in over 100 countries. 

  • Coinbase became the first cryptocurrency platform in the U.S. to go public through a direct listing on the NASDAQ stock exchange in April 2021.

  • The company has expanded its crypto and digital asset services, including the introduction of Coinbase Wallet and Coinbase Pro.

  • In 2021, he committed Coinbase to Pledge 1%, dedicating 1% of Coinbase profits, equity, and employee time toward charitable activities that leverage the power of crypto to help people around the world.
