Clint Carlson is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Carlson Capital, a multi-strategy, alternative asset management firm providing superior risk-adjusted returns for investors. Carlson has more than 25 years of experience as an active energy investor in public equity, private equity and credit markets. Prior to founding Carlson Capital in 1993, he was Head of Risk Arbitrage for the investment arm of the Bass Brothers organization. Before that, he co-managed a risk arbitrage fund for Maxxam Group and affiliated companies.
As President and CIO, he is responsible for leading all aspects of the firm's investment strategy and portfolio management.
He also leads the monitoring and execution of the firm's risk management process.
He is a member of the firm's Executive Committee and Portfolio/Risk Committee.
He has been featured in CNBC, The Wall Street Journal, Business Insider, and Institutional Investor.

EARLY CAREER
Carlson was the Head of Risk Arbitrage at Bass Brothers and co-managed a risk arbitrage fund at Maxxam Group and affiliated companies.
Before that, he managed growth stock accounts at American Capital Asset Management.
He was formerly a Director at the University of Texas Investment Management Co.
