Dan Kingston is Managing Director of Investments at Morgan Creek Capital Management, a global investment management firm. He is also a Co-Founder & Partner of Frontbridge Capital, a private investment firm established to provide strategic capital and active partnership to support the formation or expansion of exceptional private capital managers. Dan has direct experience in public equity, private equity, venture capital, real assets, alternative investments and fixed-income, which he has acquired working for some of the top institutional investors in the United States over the past 30 years. Prior to joining Morgan Creek, he was a Managing Director of Vulcan Capital, where he was responsible for heading the investment portfolio's strategic and tactical asset allocation and manager selection. He also served as Chief Investment Officer of the Kauffman Foundation and Managing Director of Stanford Management Company.
MORGAN CREEK CAPITAL MANAGEMENT
He joined Morgan Creek in 2012 as a member of Morgan Creek's Investment Committee.
He worked alongside the firm's CIO, Mark Yusko, and the investment team to evaluate investments and asset managers across all asset classes.
Today, he serves as the firm's Managing Director of Investments.
Dan was a Managing Director at the Stanford Management Company, focused on investing the endowment and other university assets in Menlo Park, CA.
He was responsible for the development and management of internal investment strategies for Stanford University's investment portfolio.
He first joined Stanford in 1990 after having spent time as a financial analyst with Hewlett Packard Corporation's investment department.
EARLY CAREER
Dan was a Managing Director responsible for heading the portfolio management at Vulcan Capital, the family office for Microsoft founder Paul Allen.
At Vulcan, he was responsible for strategic and tactical asset allocation development for the investment portfolio, as well as all of Vulcan’s investments with external managers.
Prior to joining Vulcan Capital, he was CIO at the Kauffman Foundation, a non-profit organization with an asset base of approximately $2 billion.
Before starting his investment career, Dan spent five years as an officer on active duty with the U.S. Coast Guard.
