Daron Acemoglu is an Institute Professor of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Acemoglu is one of the most cited economists in the world and a leading thinker on the labor market implications of artificial intelligence, robotics, automation, and new technologies. His research covers a wide range of areas within economics, including political economy, economic development and growth, human capital theory, growth theory, innovation, search theory, network economics and learning. Dr. Acemoglu is the author of several books including the highly-praised “Why Nations Fail” and “Economic Origins of Dictatorship and Democracy.” He has published in all the highest-ranked journals in economics and has received numerous awards and fellowships.
