Greg Foss is Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives at Validus Power Corp, a global leader in advanced power solutions focusing on sustainable energy innovation. Greg has extensive experience in banks, bonds and the credit markets as a whole, with over 32 years in high-yield credit trading and analysis as a portfolio manager and trader. Prior to VPC, he was a Founding Shareholder at 3IQ, one of Canada’s largest digital asset investment fund managers. Previously, he was Senior Portfolio Manager at Fiera Quantum, where he was co-head of Credit Strategy for the Fiera Quantum Diversified Alpha Fund and the Canadian ABCP Fund. Greg has worked on both the sell-side of the street and the buy-side having been Managing Partner of Credit Strategies at a successful hedge fund team during the great financial crisis in 2008/09.
EARLY CAREER
Greg began his career in 1988 at RBC, where he designed and implemented a software package which measured the risk-adjusted profitability.
He was a Corporate Trader for Midland Walwyn Capital, where he focused on the sell-side proprietary trading positions.
He was VP of Fixed Income Trading at TD Securities, involved in the secondary market trading volumes in excess of $3B/annum in 40+ different credits.
He spent 5 years as VP and Partner at Marret Asset Management, responsible for core holdings and trading positions of a C$1.5B portfolio.
At Marret Asset Management, he was co-manager of the 2005 Morningstar “Canadian High Yield Bond Fund of the Year.
He has experience in pricing and trading corporate credit and related structures.
