Jamie Catherwood is a Client Portfolio Associate at O’Shaughnessy Asset Management, a quantitative investment management firm delivering a broad range of equity portfolios to investors. In his role, he is responsible for helping clients understand the firm’s philosophy and process. A financial market historian, Jamie is the Founder of the wildly popular Investor Amnesia, a website that produces research content related to the history of financial markets. He quickly built his reputation as an expert on the history of money and finance after starting his blog that links current market activity and investor behavior to similar events and investor behaviors throughout the centuries. Through his contents, Jamie shares numerous interesting anecdotes and clear parallels to the current environment. Prior to joining OSAM, Jamie worked as an Investment Analyst at Arthur J. Gallagher, a global insurance brokerage, risk management, and consulting firm, where he was responsible for the assessment, development and delivery of investor data to institutional clients and consultants.
Jamie launched Investor Amnesia in 2019 to merge his two passions – finance and history. He started Investor Amnesia after discovering the lack of high-quality content dedicated to financial history. Investor Amnesia provides investors with key insights and lessons from our past in order to avoid repeating the same mistakes.
