Jeff Aronson is the Co-Founder and Managing Principal of Centerbridge Partners, a global alternative investment firm based in New York City. He oversees the firm's investment activities and serves as a member of the Management Committee. Aronson has been active in alternative investments, including private credit, private equity and real estate, for nearly 35 years. Prior to co-founding Centerbridge with Mark Gallogly, he was a Partner at Angelo Gordon, where he led all of the firm's distressed securities and leveraged loan efforts. He also served as a Senior Corporate Counsel at L.F. Rothschild & Co. and he began his career as a Securities Attorney with the law firm of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan. In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Aronson and his wife run Jeffrey H. and Shari L. Aronson Family Foundation, focused on helping develop art, healthcare, educational, and community initiatives.

  • He and his wife established the Aronson Center for International Studies, designed to promote closer ties between the university’s Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. 

  • The foundation has supported early education efforts through Teach for America, Breakthrough Collaborative, Harlem RBI, the Fund for Public Schools, Harlem Village Academies, and Bottom Line.

  • The foundation has also supported numerous education institutions, including New York University, Lehigh University, the University of Pittsburgh, Bank Street College of Education, and Williams College.
