Oliver Haarmann is a seasoned private equity investor and Founding Partner of Searchlight Capital, a global private investment management firm with over $10 billion in assets under management. At Searchlight, he serves on the Investment Committee, Operating Committee, and Valuation Committee, and works closely with the two other founding partners to oversee the firm’s global strategy and operations. Prior to founding Searchlight, Haarmann spent 12 years at KKR in London, where, as Senior Partner, he was instrumental in building KKR’s European business from a startup operation into one of the region’s most prominent private equity platforms. In addition to his career in finance, Haarmann is deeply involved in philanthropic initiatives in education and contemporary art, supporting institutions and programs that foster innovation and access. He is also a minority co-owner of the NHL’s New York Islanders.

As a Founding Partner, Oliver Haarmann jointly oversees the firm’s business alongside his two co-founders. He serves on the Investment Committee, Operating Committee, and Valuation Committee, playing a key role in guiding Searchlight’s investment strategy and governance.
Haarmann also represents the firm on the boards of several current and past portfolio companies, including EOLO, Global Risk Partners (GRP), Ocean Outdoor, and Opus, among others.
Before establishing Searchlight, Haarmann built a successful career in the investment industry across both the United States and Europe, including more than a decade at KKR, where he helped shape and expand the firm’s European private equity platform.
