Peter Mintzberg is the CEO of Grayscale Investments, the world's largest cryptocurrency asset manager. He joined Grayscale in August 2024 after succeeding the 10-year leadership of Michael Sonnenshein. Peter is a seasoned strategist with over 20 years in asset management career on Wall Street. Prior to joining Grayscale, he served as Global Head of Strategy for Asset and Wealth Management at Goldman Sachs. He also held several global leadership roles in strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and investor relations at prominent firms including BlackRock, Apollo Global Management, OppenheimerFunds, and Invesco. Peter started his career working at McKinsey & Co. in New York, San Francisco and São Paulo, focused on the financial services and technology sectors.
Prior to joining Grayscale, Peter served as Global Head of Strategy for Asset and Wealth Management for the firm.
He was responsible for the firm's wealth management business and led a new corporate strategy function.
He also led strategy, industry research and competitive intelligence, Corporate M&A and Digital Assets strategy.
EARLY CAREER
Peter was Managing Director and Head of Investor Relations at Apollo Global Management, responsible for all aspects of the relationship with sell-side analysts and institutional investors.
He also served as Global Head of Corporate Strategy at Oppenheimer Funds, where he also had added leadership post merger with Invesco.
He served as Head of Corporate Strategy at BlackRock and Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company.
