Rob Kapito is the President, Co-Founder, and Director of BlackRock. He is a member of BlackRock's Global Executive Committee and Chairman of the Global Operating Committee, and a Director of iShares Inc. A power center within the world's largest asset manager, he has assumed several senior leadership roles within BlackRock. Kapito is accountable for the day-to-day supervision of BlackRock's key operating units, including Client Business, Investment Strategies, Technology & Operations, and Risk & Quantitative Analysis. Prior to founding BlackRock in 1988, he was a Vice President in the Mortgage Products Group at The First Boston Corporation. Today, he also serves as a frequent speaker on best practices in investment management.
Kapito oversees BlackRock's biggest entities, including the $2.3 trillion iShares exchange-traded-fund franchise and its $2.1 trillion in actively managed assets,
He served as Head of BlackRock's Portfolio Management Group, responsible for overseeing all Portfolio Management within the company, including Fixed Income, Equity, Liquidity, and Alternative Investment Groups.
