Rory Eakin
Rory Eakin is a Co-founder and Director of CircleUp, a fintech company providing an investment platform powered by technology. He served as Chief Operating Officer of CircleUp, overseeing the organization's Finance, Legal, HR and Operations work, setting policies and corporate direction as well as directly managing a majority of the executive leadership team. Prior to CircleUp, Rory served as Director of Investments at Humanity United, a foundation dedicated to cultivating the conditions for enduring freedom and peace. At Humanity United, he led The Omidyar Group’s impact investing initiatives that fostered small business growth in South Africa. Rory is an experienced investor and advisor who has supported entrepreneurs nearly all his career. He began his career at a startup providing financial training to small businesses in Cape Town, South Africa.

At Humanity United, he invested in small businesses and social enterprises to stimulate job creation and promote stability in fragile economies.
He worked with Humanity United's partner organizations and is responsible for the diligence, structuring, and execution of investment opportunities.
He was a former Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group and was a Senior Fellow at US.ZA Education Initiative.
He started his career working as a math teacher at the University of Cape Town for two years.
He received his MBA from Stanford University as well as a Public Policy degree from Princeton.
He also holds a Master's Degree in International Relations from the University of Cape Town.
