Sheraz Shere is General Manager of Payments at Solana Foundation, responsible for the incubation of new protocols and standards for payments on Solana. Shere has over 20 years of experience in product management, business development and strategy consulting with a focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning, payments, cryptocurrency and blockchain. Prior to joining the foundation, he was a Leader for AI and Machine Learning Services on Google Cloud's Professional Services team. He also worked for six years as Head of Partnerships for Google Wallet and Head of Sales and Business Development for Google Checkout.

As the leader of the AI & ML Services, he led the completion of AI contact center transformation for a Fortune 50 customer and also led ML engagements covering use cases such as demand forecasting and ML model training.
He was also one of the business co-founders of Google Wallet, where he led a team focused on merchant strategy, acquisition and development for Google Wallet Platforms.
He also led all external partnerships, new business development and merchant sales for Google Checkout.
Shere spent 8 years at AMEX most recently as Vice President of Business Development.
He led the team in developing new revenue-based businesses, marketing services and new industry categories for credit card acceptance.
He launched the Express Rewards Mortgage program, the first ever mortgage product to allow credit card acceptance for monthly payments with IndyMac and American Home Bank.
During his tenure, he was also responsible for the development of emerging industries for plastic payments.

He served as a Senior Consultant at Ernst & Young, where his responsibilities included pricing analysis, operations optimization, and telecommunications strategy.
He started his career as a Senior Analyst at First Manhattan Consulting Group, responsible for retail banking profitability analysis and developing customer knowledge infrastructure.
