EARLY CAREER
Seides began his career in 1992 under the mentorship of David Swensen at the Yale Investments Office. During his five years at Yale, he focused on selecting and monitoring external public equity managers and managing internal fixed income portfolios.
He later co-founded and served as President and Co Chief Investment Officer of Protégé Partners, a multibillion dollar alternative investment firm that invested in and seeded emerging hedge fund managers. Over 14 years, he helped build and lead the firm’s hedge fund portfolio and seeding strategies.
Seides is also known for his widely publicized 10 year wager with Warren Buffett, which compared the performance of the S&P 500 against a portfolio of hedge funds.
He later served as Chief Investment Officer of Perch Bay Group, a single family office, where he constructed and managed a diversified portfolio spanning direct investments and external managers across asset classes.
