Victor Khosla is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Strategic Value Partners, an industry leading global private credit firm. He has led the firm's transformation from its roots in distressed investing to one with expertise in private debt, event-driven investing, hard assets, and special situations private equity. He was also a pioneer in Europe, setting up an office in London in 2004, and has capitalized on various dislocations. Khosla has a 30-year track record in distressed and private equity investments. Prior to establishing SVP in 2001, he served as President of Cerberus Capital Management. In the 1990s, he built and managed the distressed credit desk at both Citi and Merrill Lynch, establishing two of the top proprietary trading businesses. He is also a frequent speaker on capital markets and private credit investing.

Khosla has led the firm from core strength in the corporate sector to some specialty sectors including infrastructure, aviation, real estate and power generation.
He was one of the first distressed investors to establish a European presence, opening the firm’s London office in 2004.
He was honored with the 2023 Harvey R. Miller Award for his contributions to the restructuring industry.

EARLY CAREER
Khosla started his career at Citibank and subsequently built and managed one of the top distressed proprietary trading businesses at Merrill Lynch.
At the time of his departure at Merrill Lynch, he had investment authority for $2 billion in corporate and real estate investments and headed a team of 40 analysts and traders based in New York, Tokyo, London, and Hong Kong.
He later served as President of Cerberus Capital Management and ran MooreSVP, a JV with Moore Capital, which focused on investing in Japanese distressed debt.
