André Perold is the Co-Founder, Managing Partner, and Chief Investment Officer of HighVista Strategies, an employee-owned specialty alternative asset manager. In addition to HighVista, Perold is a legendary master of the case study classroom with a distinguished career teaching investment management. He was the George Gund Professor Emeritus of Finance and Banking at the Harvard Business School where he served in senior roles including Senior Associate Dean and Chair of the Finance Faculty. His research interests lie primarily in investment management with a focus on asset allocation, investments in non-traditional assets, risk management, and efficient execution. He has also published numerous articles, cases, and two books, all relating to investment management, capital markets, and the financial system. He has also served on a number of investment committees of not-for-profit institutions.

Perold has been a member of the faculty since 1979, serving as the George Gund Professor of Finance and Banking, Emeritus.
His research was focused in investment management and the capital markets, and he developed popular courses in those areas.
He authored and co-authored 27 articles in financial journals, two books, and over 100 case studies, all relating to investment management, capital markets, and the financial system.
He developed popular courses in Investment Management and Capital Markets, including a recent course focused on investing in real assets.
He also served in senior roles, including as a Senior Associate Dean and Chair of the Finance Faculty.
He received numerous awards for teaching excellence, including being voted the School’s most outstanding professor in a Business Week student survey.
