Chris Bailey is the Founder of Financial Orbit, a market analysis company that provides macroeconomic commentaries and securities analysis with relevance for global investors. He is also Head Economist and Member of the Investment Committee at Celtic Financial Planning, a multi-award winning financial adviser. He has over 20 years of investment industry experience at long-only and long-short institutions as a global multi-asset fund manager, strategist, macro thinker, and securities and fund analyst. Passionate about the combination of top-down and bottom-up analysis, Chris believes that understanding both aspects is the only way to get a full view of global opportunities across equity, bond and alternative investment markets. Prior to launching Financial Orbit, he worked for a London-based fund management group and headed the team for a range of globally directly invested mutual funds, where he personally ran the Growth, Balanced and Conservative funds.

He undertakes bespoke research and consulting work for various global asset management firms on both market strategy and global securities analysis.
As Head of Direct Global Investments at Close Brothers Asset Management, he led the team that managed over GBP 1.6B.
He was named as one of the 'top 40 under 40' in the UK investment management industry during his time at Close Brothers.
He was an Investment Manager for Bradshaw Asset Management where he managed a pan-European long/short fund.
