Christian Thwaites
Christian Thwaites is a Partner in the North Bay office at Cerity Partners, one of the largest independent wealth management firms in the country. Thwaites has worked in the investment industry for five decades in the US, Europe, and Asia. Prior to Cerity Partners, he was Chief Strategist and Partner at Brouwer & Janachowski, where he oversaw the company’s Portfolio Management Group, which is responsible for research, strategy, and investment management of all client portfolios. He also served as CEO of CIO of Sentinel Investments, which managed more than $28 billion in fixed income and equities for institutional and retail clients.

Thwaites worked on Brouwer & Janachowski's asset allocation strategy, investments and with key clients from the legal industry.
He was responsible for the specialty law firm client practice group Smart Counsel. He was a Principal of the firm, and a member of the Senior Management team.
He also published the company’s weekly blog of economic and market insights.
SENTINEL INVESTMENTS
Thwaites was President and CEO of the Equity and Fixed Income Investments, Distribution, Marketing and Sales Management.
He managed Sentinel's equity and fixed income investment teams, including oversight of the portfolio managers, analysts and trading operations.
He was Lead Portfolio Manager for Sentinel Conservative Strategies Fund, and spearheaded turnaround efforts for the firm.

Over the years, Thwaites has held various positions including investment analyst, progressed to equity portfolio manager, business and sales development and general manager.
He has experience in multiple asset classes including equities, fixed income, international and emerging markets.
He also served as CEO of Skandia Global Funds, a London-based fund company, and Head of Marketing at American Skandia, a leader in the variable annuity and multi-manager fund business.
He served on the boards of TeenSmart International and Investment Adviser Association.
He was also a Consultant for Monitor Group and Vice President of Mutual Funds for Aetna.
