Dave Breazzano is the Head of the Credit Team at Polen Capital, where he oversees $8 billion of the firm’s $65 billion in assets. He serves as Polen’s Co-Portfolio Manager of the U.S. Opportunistic High Yield and U.S. High Yield strategies. Breazzano has over 40 years of experience in high yield, distressed, and special situations investing. He was the Founder of DDJ Capital Management, where he built the boutique firm into a premier credit manager focused on high yield and special situation investing. Prior to co-founding DDJ, he was a Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Fidelity Investments' High Income Group, where he had investment management responsibility for over $4 billion in high yield and distressed assets. Before that, he spent five years at T. Rowe Price as a High Yield Analyst and Portfolio Manager.

DDJ CAPITAL MANAGEMENT

DDJ is a value-oriented, bottom-up credit manager specializing in high yield bonds, bank loans and special situations investing.
He oversaw all aspects of the firm and chaired the Management Operating, Remuneration, and Investment Review Committees.
He also served as the Portfolio Manager of DDJ’s U.S. Opportunistic High Yield and Upper Tier U.S. High Yield strategies.
IN 2022, Polen Capital acquired DDJ Capital which launched the firm's Credit capabilities.

EARLY CAREER

Breazzano began his career in high yield at First Investors, which was then the largest high yield buy-side shop.
He joined T. Rowe Price in 1985 to help set up a high yield mutual fund, which quickly grew to $100 million in size.
He moved to Fidelity Investments to run their flagship high yield fund and co-manage their bankruptcy investment area.
He was a Portfolio Manager of the Fidelity Capital & Income Fund, which was one of the largest high yield funds in existence at that time.
