David Casper
David Casper is the U.S. Chief Executive Officer of BMO Financial Group and serves as Chair and CEO of BMO Harris Bank, where he leads the firm’s U.S. operations and strategic growth initiatives. In this role, he oversees BMO’s global investment and corporate banking, sales and trading, research, and treasury businesses across North America, Europe, and Asia, playing a central role in advancing the firm’s integrated capital markets and commercial banking platform. Casper is instrumental in shaping BMO’s capital markets strategy, strengthening client relationships, and driving growth across debt and equity capital markets, advisory services, and risk management solutions. Over his career at BMO, he has held senior leadership roles within the firm’s U.S. investment banking franchise, where he helped expand BMO’s presence and capabilities in the United States and supported its evolution into a leading North American financial institution. Beyond his executive responsibilities, David Casper is actively engaged in civic and community leadership, serving on boards and supporting initiatives focused on education, healthcare, and economic development.

David Casper has spent his entire professional career at BMO Harris, joining the firm in 1978 and building more than four decades of leadership experience across commercial banking and capital markets.
Over the years, he has worked extensively with both mid-market and large corporate clients, developing deep expertise across a broad range of industries and financial solutions.
Casper previously served as Co-Head of U.S. Investment and Corporate Banking, where he held joint responsibility for all investment banking and corporate banking products in the United States.
In this role, he oversaw coverage across key industry sectors including Business Services, Food and Consumer, Financial Institutions, Industrials, Real Estate, Construction and Engineering, Energy, Healthcare, and Financial Sponsors, helping drive BMO’s integrated client coverage model.
In 1997, Casper joined BMO Capital Markets as Director of Investment Banking, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, private and public capital raising, and strategic advisory services.
He later advanced to Managing Director and Head of Financial Sponsors for the firm’s U.S. Investment and Corporate Banking Group, where he played a pivotal role in expanding BMO’s sponsor coverage and strengthening relationships with private equity firms and institutional investors.
