Douglas Foreman is Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager at Kayne Anderson Rudnick Investment Management, an investment affiliate of Virtus Investment Partners. In his role, Doug manages the firm’s Large Cap Sustainable Growth, Mid-Cap Sustainable Growth, and All Cap Sustainable Growth funds. He is also a member of the executive management committee. Prior to joining KAR in 2011, Doug was Director of Equities at HighMark Capital Management, and was a Group Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of U.S. equities at Trust Company of the West in Los Angeles for 12 years. He began his investment career at Putnam Investments as an equity research analyst and portfolio manager. Doug is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) charterholder. He began working in the investment industry in 1986.
Doug joined KAR in 2011 as Director of Equities, where he was responsible for evolving and advancing KAR's equity investment process.
At HighMark Capital, he was responsible for managing its 18-member equity team with $5 billion in assets under management.
At Putnam Investments, he was a portfolio manager for several mutual funds from 1989 to 1994 following 3 years as an equity research analyst.
Before his investment career, he served in the US navy for 5 years in the roles of main propulsion assistant of a Navy destroyer and ROTC instructor at MIT.
He earned a B.S. in marine engineering from The U.S. Naval Academy and an M.B.A. from Harvard University.
