Eric Peters is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Investment Officer of One River Asset Management and its subsidiary, One River Digital Asset Management. In these roles, he is responsible for directing the business development and strategic initiatives of the firm. Eric is a macro-thinker with a rare ability to parse markets, human psychology, and long-term trends, known for his experienced approach to identifying macro themes and creating strategies built to capitalize on them. Eric is also the author of Weekend Notes, a private weekly investment newsletter with reflections on markets, global events, and history, read by investment professionals around the world. In addition, he travels extensively, exchanging ideas, debating policy, and identifying investment opportunities with many of the foremost financial personalities in the world of finance. Prior to founding One River in 2013, he served as Chairman of Grant Capital Partners, where he led the firm from the depths of the 2008 financial crisis to its peak AUM of $1.25 billion. At Grant Capital, he focused on thematic investment opportunities and was responsible for all non-investment activities including the direct oversight of the chief risk officer.
EARLY CAREER Eric started his career in 1989 in Chicago, and since then has developed a vast financial network. Throughout his career, he has traveled the world and has held various positions over his 25-year financial career. While in London, he traded short term interest rates and currencies. He also worked for Lehman Brothers in New York trading money markets. He was also a portfolio manager forĀ Peloton Partners, proprietary trader for Credit Suisse, and founder and CEO of a TH Lee Putnam funded technology firm.
