Gary Tenkman is the CEO of Ultimus Fund Solutions, a leading tech-enabled provider of full-service fund administration, middle office, and investor solutions. As CEO, he works closely with the Ultimus executive team and board members with responsibility for providing strategic growth, financial, and operational leadership for Ultimus and its over 900 employees. Tenkman has over 30 years of proven leadership experience in the fund operations and servicing space for both registered and alternative investments. Prior to Ultimus, he was Head of Fund Services Operations for Citi in North America, where he was responsible for the operations for both U.S. and Canadian registered fund business, middle office services and alternative investment services. Earlier in his career, he was an Audit Manager in Ernst & Young’s investment management practice.
Tenkman joined Ultimus in 2014 as Chief Operating Officer, and became CEO in 2019.
Under his leadership, the firm has experienced tremendous growth as a result of new client mandates, mergers and acquisitions, all while maintaining industry-leading client satisfaction ratings.
As CEO, he works closely with the executive management team to ensure the operational delivery of Ulitmus' client centric services and solutions.
He is also responsible for providing strategic leadership to the company, and oversees the implementation and progress of those plans.
EXPERTISE & EARLY CAREER
Tenkman is an experienced leader in the fund services industry responsible for growing businesses, leading teams, operating model design and implementation, product development, relationship management and regulator interaction.
He spent 16 years at Citigroup, where he had increasing responsibilities in several different leadership positions.
He was also involved in alternative investment fund services, European fund services, and U.S. fund services at Citi.
As Head of Operations for BISYS, he was responsible for operations of hedge and private equity administration services in Roseland, Columbus, San Francisco, Cayman Islands and Chennai.
Prior to that, he was an Audit Manager at Ernst & Young responsible for the investment management practice in the Ohio Valley area.
