Jamie Dinan is the Founder, Chairman, CEO and Managing Partner of York Capital Management, a global alternative investment firm that focuses on identifying mispriced risk through divergent views of markets and catalysts. Prior to founding the firm, he was General Partner at Kellner Capital and served as a Member of the investment banking group at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc. In 2014, Dinan purchased a minority stake in the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks, alongside fellow finance tycoons Marc Lasry and Wes Edens. In addition to his corporate responsibilities, he is committed to giving back and is actively involved in various philanthropic initiatives.
Dinan is a Co-Portfolio Manager of the York Multi-Strategy, York Credit Opportunities, York Sub-Advised ’40 Act Strategy, and Portfolio Manager of the York Total Return strategy.
York was founded in 1991 as a hedge fund platform, with the goal of generating attractive, risk adjusted returns across business and market cycles.

EARLY CAREER
From 1981 to 1983, Jamie was a member of the investment banking group at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc.
In 1987, he lost his entire $600,000 in savings when the stock market crashed.
From 1985 to 1991, he worked at Kellner, DiLeo & Co., where he became a General Partner and was responsible for investing in risk arbitrage and special situation investments.
In 1991, he recovered and raised $3.6 million from his former colleagues at DLJ and started his own hedge fund, York Capital.
