Jeff Sprecher is the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Intercontinental Exchange, a global leader in stock exchange operations and financial infrastructure. A trailblazer in the digitization of trading and marketplaces, Sprecher transformed ICE from a single energy exchange into a vast network that includes the New York Stock Exchange, multiple clearing houses, and data services that power global financial and commodity markets. Under his leadership, ICE has grown through strategic acquisitions and organic innovation, including the 2018 launch of Bakkt, a platform aimed at advancing institutional adoption of Bitcoin and digital assets.

Sprecher has led numerous strategic initiatives that have enabled ICE to expand from a single asset class (energy) into a broad range of asset classes today.
Under his leadership, ICE has grown from a startup to a diversified, subscription-driven Fortune 500 company with nearly 14,000 employees.
He became Chair of the NYSE following ICE’s acquisition, overseeing a complete overhaul of the Exchange.
He oversaw numerous deals including what is now known as ICE Futures Europe, ICE Clear Europe, ICE Futures U.S., and ICE Clear U.S.
ACQUISITIONS
Sprecher acquired Continental Power Exchange (CPEX), the predecessor company to ICE, in 1997 to achieve his vision of an open, transparent electronic energy marketplace.
He bought the International Petroleum Exchange in 2001, the New York Board of Trade in 2007, Creditex in 2008, the Clearing Corporation in 2009 the Climate Exchange in 2010 and the NYSE itself in 2013.
