Prior to founding Catalpa Capital, Joe was the Chief Investment Officer and Chief Global Strategist at Morgan Stanley Investment Management for over 12 years, which followed 10 years as the Director of Research & Chief Strategist at Dillon Read & Co. With more than five decades of research and investment experience, Joe Mac also provides expert commentary for financial news outlets. He has appeared numerous times on CNN’s "Moneyline" and "Street Sweep," CNBC's "Market Wrap" and "Today's Business," as well as PBS's "Nightly Business Report."
While at Morgan Stanley, Joe served as Chief Global Strategist where he articulated the firm's investment policy and outlook.
Prior to Dillon Joe served as President & CEO of Argus Research for 16 years, where he started as an analyst recruited from W.E. Burnet & Co.
Joe began his career on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.
He received a B.A. Cum Laude in Economics from Rutgers University.
He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
