Max Song is a venture builder, data scientist, entrepreneur, investor and researcher in digital sustainable finance. Max is the Founder and CEO of Carbonbase, a climate tech company where they leverage tech for companies and individuals preparing for climate transition. He is also the Co-founder of the Sustainable Bitcoin Protocol, a company that aims to make the bitcoin network carbon neutral. In addition, he is a venture partner at Pacific Century Group, a Hong Kong-based family office where he conducted research into investments focused on AI, TMT and blockchain and digital asset opportunities. He conducts research into cutting-edge fields and technology, interacts with companies, and looks for ways to build dynamic relationships. Previously, he was a professional data scientist at Ayasdi, a DARPA-funded machine learning company in Silicon Valley, and at Snips in Paris. Today, he has been focusing on defining sustainability post Covid-19, the impending climate change crisis, as well as ways to build products and services to address climate change.
CARBONBASE
Carbonbase allows people to calculate their carbon footprint and offset it, offering them to earn rewards for doing so.
The company also consults to reduce carbon footprint, and helps them track their emissions using blockchain technology.
EARLY CAREER
He conducted genetic engineering research at the NASA Ames research center, where his team won Best New Application at the World Championships.
While studying at Brown, he launched his first startup accelerator. He also worked as a teaching fellow at Singularity University.
He first founded a consultancy to help large companies in Asia use blockchain effectively.
