Michael Edesess is a mathematician and economist specializing in finance, energy, and sustainable development. He serves as Chief Investment Strategist at Compendium Finance and is an Adjunct Professor in the Division of Environment and Sustainability at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Edesess is the author of the bestselling books The Big Investment Lie and The 3 Simple Rules of Investing, and has taught courses in international finance, mathematics, statistics, systems analysis, and energy. EARLY CAREER
Edesess was a Founding Partner in 1995 and Chief Economist of the Lockwood Financial Group until its acquisition by The Bank of New York.
He chaired the board of International Development Enterprises USA, the Rocky Mountain Institute, and the Rocky Mountain Advisory Board of Environmental Defense.
He also chaired three boards of nonprofit organizations in the fields of environment and sustainable development.
