Paul Kim
Paul Kim is the Co-Founder and CEO of Simplify Asset Management, an ETF provider focused on helping advisors build better portfolios. Kim is an innovator and architect in the ETF industry. Prior to launching Simplify, he was Head of ETF Strategy and Portfolio Manager at Principal Global Investors, where he launched and built the firm's $3+ billion ETF business from the ground up, leading ETF product development, capital markets, and distribution and marketing strategy. He also served as Senior Vice President and ETF Product Manager at PIMCO, helping launch and establish PIMCO's $20+ billion ETF platform of fixed income ETFs, including MINT, BOND, ZROZ and HYS. Kim also had experience in the digital marketing, investment banking, and private equity industries.
Kim co-founded Simplify in 2020 and serves as the President of Simplify ETFs, an ETF provider focused on building better portfolios.
He specializes in developing innovative ETF strategies, particularly those focused on long volatility, income generation, and downside risk hedging.

Kim is an ETF industry veteran whose experience spans several successful ETF business launches and innovations.
He was Head of ETF Strategy at Principal Global Investors, building out a family of smart beta and active ETFs.
He was Senior Vice President at PIMCO where he launched innovative fixed income ETFs including MINT, BOND, ZROZ, and HYS.
He started his career as a Private Equity Associate at Willis Stein & Partners, and later served as an Analyst at Lazard.
Kim has been a frequent contributor to ETF industry panels as well as financial media including Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal, and Financial Times.
