Philippe Khuong-Huu is Founding Member and Chief Investment Officer of Alphadyne Asset Management, a leading alternative investment management firm. He oversees the firm’s investment decision-making and is a member of the firm’s Risk Management Committee. Prior to launching Alphadyne in 2005, he was a Partner at Goldman Sachs, where he also served as Head of the firm's Structured Credit Group and Head of the Global Interest Rate Products Group. He was also a member of the Risk Committee covering fixed income, currencies, and commodities at Goldman Sachs. Before that, he spent a decade at J.P. Morgan, where he held senior management positions within fixed income, equity, and credit derivatives trading.
EARLY CAREER
Khuong-Huu began his career at Société Générale in Paris where he was a market maker in options. He later became Head of Equity Derivatives in Tokyo, where he focused on option and index arbitrage.
He was one of the founders of FPML, an industry-wide initiative to create an electronic trading platform for options.
He graduated from École Polytechnique and received his Masters in Statistics and Economics from ENSAE.
J.P. MORGAN
In 1991, he moved to J.P. Morgan in Tokyo to start its options arbitrage group, and has since headed a number of its businesses including the firm’s global interest rate and credit derivatives groups.
He also served as J.P. Morgan's Global Head of Options, Exotics and Credit Derivatives Trading, and Co-Head of European Swaps. He also served as the firm's Equity Derivatives Trading in Tokyo.
He was a member of Lab Morgan, where he invested in derivatives market platforms including Swapswire and Creditex.
