Richard Murray III is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Portfolio Manager of Midwest Advisors, an investment management firm that serves institutional and high net worth clients focused on real estate securities. At Midwest, he is responsible for the investment strategy, evaluation of investment portfolios, portfolio construction and management as well as risk management and compliance. Rick Murray’s fundamental research and stock picking have been recognized by The Wall Street Journal, Fortune Magazine, and Forbes/Starmine. He has also appeared numerous times on financial and national news television.
Rick Murray has been featured on financial publications such as CNBC’s Squawk Box, Morning Call, Kudlow & Company, Bloomberg, and The Nightly Business Report.
He has also been repeatedly quoted extensively in national print media publications.
Prior to founding Midwest Advisors, Murray spent six years at Hovde Capital Advisors LLC in Washington DC, a manager of financial services and real estate focused long/short equity and credit hedge funds and served as a director for Great Wolf Resorts, a publicly traded lodging company.
He also spent over seven years as an equity research analyst following the real estate and housing sectors for Raymond James & Associates, Inc. in St. Petersburg, FL.
Before this, he was employed by A.G. Edward Sons, Inc. in St. Louis, MO and he also has previous real estate experience with Gundaker in St. Louis, MO.
