Scott MacKillop is Chief Executive Officer of First Ascent Asset Management, a Denver-based firm that provides investment management services to financial advisors and their clients. A 40-year veteran of the financial services industry, Scott believes that we can create better portfolios for long-term investors through improvements in the processes and practices. Prior to joining First Ascent, Scott held various executive positions in the industry, including President of Frontier Asset Management, President of Houston-based US Fiduciary Services, and President of PMC. Scott has published over 150 articles and papers, and has over 100 industry conference speaking engagements.
Scott MacKillop practiced law in Washington, DC for a little over 15 years, specializing in securities law, ERISA, and venture capital transactions.
He joined ADAM as a Senior Executive and became president of the firm when it was acquired by PMC in 1998.
He founded Trivium Consulting in 2000, a firm that helped financial institutions develop investment management services for financial advisors.
