Simon Ogus is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of DSG Asia Limited, an independent consultancy firm headquartered in Hong Kong. He is regarded as one of the most prominent economists and macroeconomic strategists in the Asia Pacific. Ogus has been living and working in Hong Kong for over 30 years, researching and analyzing the Asian economy and markets. During his time on the sell-side, he was consistently voted as one of the top-ranked regional macro analysts across a range of industry surveys.

  • Ogus originally trained as an actuary with William Mercer Fraser.
  • He started covering Asia in the mid-1980s.
  • He has held academic positions and lectured at various regional universities. 


CURRENT APPOINTMENTS

  • Ogus serves on the board of a number of companies and official bodies including the Council of Advisers for the Hong Kong Monetary Authority's Hong Kong Institute for Monetary Research, and the Board of Governors for the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.
  • He is an adviser to and a shareholder in the Silverhorn Group, a fully integrated wealth management boutique with a core focus on Asia.
  • He serves as a member of the Advisory Board at Arowana.
