Yoni Assia is the Founder and CEO of eToro, the world's leading social investment network. Since founding eToro in 2017, he has successfully presided over the rise of an investment network that enables 35 million users to connect, share, trade, and invest in the global financial markets. Yoni is a fintech trailblazer and widely regarded as a cryptocurrency pioneer. In addition to being a driving force in the emerging crypto industry, he also champions causes such as sustainability and universal basic income. Prior to launching eToro, he was the Co-Founder of CDRide, an on-ride video technology company.

  • Yoni founded eToro in 2017 with the vision of opening up the global markets so everyone can trade and invest in a simple and transparent way.

  • Today, the platform has over 35 million registered users from over 100 countries and enables people to invest in the assets they want.

  • The platform gives traders and investors access to more than 6,000 different financial assets, including stocks, cryptocurrencies, ETFs, indices, currencies and commodities.

  • Yoni showed an interest in finance and computer science from his youth and so decided to merge his passions. 

  • In 2012, he co-wrote with Vitalik Buterin (the founder of Ethereum) the white paper for Colored Coins. 

  • In 2018, he established the GoodDollar Foundation, a non-profit initiative determined to create a sustainable and scalable framework for bringing global universal basic income to the world through new digital asset technologies.
