Ben Inker is the Co-Head of Asset Allocation and a Portfolio Manager at GMO, a Boston-based global investment management firm. In his role, Inker oversees GMO’s diversified suite of asset allocation strategies and plays a key role in portfolio construction, risk management, and long-term capital allocation. He is also a Partner at GMO and serves on the firm’s Board of Directors. Inker began his career at GMO in 1992 after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Yale University. Over more than three decades at the firm, he has held a series of senior leadership positions, including Analyst on GMO’s Quantitative Equity and Asset Allocation teams, Portfolio Manager across multiple equity and multi-asset strategies, and Chief Investment Officer of Quantitative Developed Equities. During his long tenure at GMO, Ben Inker held a series of senior investment and leadership roles across the firm’s Quantitative Equity and Asset Allocation teams.
He began as an analyst, contributing to quantitative research and portfolio construction, before becoming a Portfolio Manager for multiple equity and multi-asset allocation strategies.
Inker later served as Co-Head of International Quantitative Equities, where he oversaw the development and global implementation of GMO’s quantitative investment strategies across international markets.
He subsequently held the role of Chief Investment Officer of Quantitative Developed Equities, leading portfolio strategy, risk management, and investment process design for developed-market quantitative equity portfolios.
In addition to his responsibilities at GMO, Inker co-managed the Wells Fargo Advantage Asset Allocation Fund and the Wells Fargo Advantage Absolute Return Fund.
