Benn Eifert is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of QVR Advisors. Prior to this, he was Co-Founder and Co-Portfolio Manager at Mariner Coria. In this previous role, he was jointly responsible for all aspects of investment strategy, portfolio and risk management, fund marketing, as well as front office investment team management. In academia, Eifert has taught extensively in the Masters in Financial Engineering program in the Haas School of Business, where , where focused on applied financial econometrics and statistics, credit risk modeling, and applied research courses.

Academic History

  • Eifert started his career as an emerging markets macroeconomist at the World Bank.
  • He is also on the advisory board member of Madrone, where he advises on the next generation of cloud-based predictive portfolio and business analytics for investment managers.
  • He has appeared as a guest on Real Vision.

  • Overland Advisors - Head of Quantitative Research
    • Created and executed relative value investment strategies in equity, currency, and commodity derivative markets.
    • Built the empirical stress scenario risk models used firm-wide across asset classes.
