Douglas Borthwick is the Co-Founder of DIBS Capital, a developer of a vast multi-broker network for private companies. Borthwick is a financial industry veteran and fintech expert with a demonstrated history of working in the financial services and blockchain industries. He served as the Co-Founder and CEO of Blu Canary Capital, a global advisory firm at the forefront of the regulated digital securities world, where he led the firm in shaping entertainment's future through AI, blockchain, digital asset taxation and immersive tech. EARLY CAREER
Borthwick started his career at Lehman Brothers and later moved to Morgan Stanley.
At Morgan Stanley, he managed foreign exchange derivatives trading groups in New York and London, with a strong focus on emerging markets.
He ran the strategic trading desk at Merrill Lynch, and the Latin American FX trading business at Standard Chartered.
He also founded and built the Chapdelaine FX electronic and voice trading business for inter-dealer broker TP-ICAP.
He managed trading and research areas for the startup foreign exchange agency Faros Trading, a company that was later sold to FXCM in 2013.
He served on the boards of Magic Circle Technology, Blockpillars, ILS Brokers, and SoHo Capital.
