George Noble is Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Noble Capital Advisors. He has more than 35 years of extensive experience in the asset management industry. Noble began his career in 1981 at Fidelity Investments. He then entered the hedge fund business in 1991 with the launch of Teton Partners, a global long/short equity hedge fund which he closed in 1996 after a period of weak performance. He subsequently launched the Gryfalcon hedge fund, which he closed in 2009 after the fund drop half of its asset base.

CAREER MILESTONES

  • In 1981, Noble began his career at Fidelity Investments, an international financial firm based in Boston, Massachusetts.
  • In 1984, he was tasked to manage the Fidelity Overseas Fund, the first international equities product of Fidelity. During the first year of operations, the Fund was ranked the number one mutual Fund in the United States. Also during his stewardship, the Overseas Fund ranked first in performance among all international Funds tracked by Lipper Analytical Services and ranked second among all mutual Funds.
  • In 1991, he started Teton, one of the earliest global hedge funds to exceed $1 billion in assets under management. 
  • In 2005, he launched Gryfalcon, a global long/short equity fund.
  • In 2009, he returned capital to investors in order to manage family capital.
