Guy Spier is a well-known value investor and the Founder and Managing Partner of Aquamarine Capital, an investment vehicle inspired by the original 1950's Buffett partnerships. In 2007, he made headlines by bidding $650,100 with Mohnish Pabrai for a charity lunch with Warren Buffett. Prior to starting Aquamarine Fund, he worked as an investment banker in New York, and as a management consultant in London and Paris. Spier is the author of The Education of a Value Investor, achieving significant success and translations into multiple languages. He is a regular media commentator on economic and political affairs. He also co-founded TEDxZurich and TEDxZuriberg.

EARLY CAREER
Spier served as President of the Oxford Alumni Association of New York.
In 2009, he was featured in The Checklist Manifesto by Atul Gawande, regarding his use of checklists as part of his investment process.
He was on the advisory board of the Dakshana Foundation and was a speaker at Ted University which preceded TED India.
His book, The Education of a Value Investor, has sold more than 50,000 copies and has also been translated into Hebrew, German, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Mandarin and Spanish.
