Harlan Korenvaes is the Founder of HBK Capital Management, a global, multi-strategy alternative investment manager based in Dallas. Under his leadership, HBK grew to over 200 employees worldwide and over $5 billion of assets under management prior to his retirement in 2003. Korenvaes is a prominent figure in the world of finance, known for his successful hedge fund career and philanthropic endeavors. Prior to launching his own firm, he was Managing Director for convertible arbitrage sales and trading at Merrill Lynch. Today, he serves as the CEO, Chief Investment Officer, and Senior Managing Director of Korenvaes Management; and President and Chief Investment Officer of Korenvaes Capital Management, his family investment management company.

EARLY CAREER
At Merrill Lynch, he was responsible for convertible arbitrage sales and trading, risk arbitrage and index arbitrage.
He also served as a member of the capital markets equity commitment committee at Merrill Lynch.
Before that, he was a partner at M.E. Goldstein & Co., a New York Stock Exchange specialist firm.
